Reducing Parental Conflict Workshop for VCSE Organisations
Relationships matter...for the health and wellbeing of parents and their children.
Disagreements and arguments are normal in every relationship, but it is the persistent, unresolved conflict that can cause damage. Understanding how to 'argue better', our communication styles and how they may differ in relationships can make a huge difference. It's really useful stuff (life skills!) that is relevant to every relationship or connection we make as human beings. This workshop is funded by Leicester City Council and is for Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations working with families who live in the City of Leicester. If that describes your work, you've most probably had a family talk to you about relationship difficulties. How do you help them? This workshop is a good place to start. As well as giving a taster insight into the Reducing Parental Conflict agenda and the toolkit of resources, we will be asking participants to share their experiences and give their opinion on how the toolkit would work in the communities they serve. Our funders at Leicester City Council are keen to know if it meets the needs and experiences of the diverse population in Leicester, and if it doesn't, how could it be made better. We will explain options for further learning and how to access the small grants scheme so your organisation can put learning into practice. We know it can put pressure on small organisations to release workers or volunteers away from service delivery. To help with this, organisations will be able to claim £50 per participant to cover time and travel expenses for the 2.5 hour session. Sessions are held at The Grove Community Hub, Cort Crescent, Braunstone, Leicester LE3 1QZ on
