CFF turning 30 - gifts of kindness

This time last year we were talking about how we were going to celebrate our 30th anniversary, bringing people together to share stories, experiences and look to the future.

The pandemic and lockdown meant that we weren't able to bring people together in the way we had hoped. Instead, we planted 30 commemorative oak trees and our team came together on Zoom to show their 'gifts of kindness' - poems, art and crafts which will go on display in the training room at CFF. As you can see - there's lots of hidden talents amongst the team!

My Journey At The Centre – Sue Woodcock

My journey at the centre started many years ago,
Who'd have thought I'd still be here?
Little did I know.
Myself and Helen were the chosen two.
The pilot started small, and just grew and grew.

The groups included, LWT, F&F and Grounded,
They were tried, tested, well balanced and rounded.
Helping children and parents to see the light,
Improving relationships, to have fun, and not to fight.

Home visits, planning and lots of meets,
Working together to get 'bums on seats'.
Flip charts, role play and lots of sharing,
Laughter, fun and endless caring.

Over the years many workers have come and gone,
Truly special people, like Liane, who always shone.
Others included, Richard, Cisca and Rob,
Amazing individuals, all dedicated to their job.

Next appeared Teen Parents, SYAC and Positive Minds,
Diversity, culture, ethnicity, all different kinds.
Times are changing, we all move in a new way,
Sonder, self referrals, are now order of the day.

Along came the Pandemic, now the world is a different state.
Covid 19, Lockdown, shield or self isolate.
IT, zoom,chat and screen sharing,
The modern way of helping and caring.

I salute all the workers that have made this come true,
Henry, Jayne and Stacey, to name a few.
We are now part of the CFF bubble,
Supporting each other, in these times of trouble.

After 30 years of supporting, motivating and giving,
The centre carries on, promoting good living.
I am honoured and proud to be part of the team,
And can't wait until mask wearing is only a dream.

I look forward to when we can meet face to face,
Working together, making the world a better place!
